If you’re concerned about the water quality in your home or your home has hard water, an Enviro water system can be a great investment. Contaminated drinking water is becoming an increasingly big concern in some places. Installing a water purification system is the only real way you can know for sure that your drinking water is safe. Installing a water conditioner is also important for preventing issues caused by hard water. This is where an Enviro water system can be such a great choice as it will purify and condition your water all in one.

Why Water Filtration and Conditioning Are Important

You may be surprised to learn that the drinking water in your home isn’t as clean or pure as you think. Tap water generally contains high levels of chlorine and chloramines since these chemicals are used in the majority of municipal water treatment plants. High levels of chlorine can make your water taste and smell unpleasant. But all of the chlorine can also dry out your skin and make it itchy and damage your hair.

Tap water can also contain lots of other impurities, including chemicals, pesticides, bacteria and even heavy metals like lead. The water is mostly clean when it leaves the treatment plant. The issue is that it can pick up lots of impurities and contaminants as it travels through the pipes on the way to your home.

Hard water is also an extremely common problem. There may be lots of dissolved minerals like calcium and magnesium in the water. If so, you’ll end up having lots of mineral deposits and limescale forming inside your pipes and in your plumbing fixtures and appliances. As the deposits build up inside pipes, they can greatly reduce the water pressure and restrict how much water can flow through the pipes. The mineral deposits from hard water can also do lots of damage to your water heater, dishwasher and washing machine. This is why these units don’t last nearly as long in homes with hard water problems.

If you’re looking to overcome issues with hard water and ensure your water is clean and safe to drink, an Enviro water system is one of the best choices. Enviro Water Products produces a range of different water filtration, purification and conditioning systems. However, the best choice is usually a combination water conditioning system. This type of system has three stages and works to both purify and filter the water to remove contaminants and condition the water to prevent mineral deposits from forming.

Sediment Pre-Filter

The first stage is a sediment pre-filter that captures silt, sand, rust and other solid particles that are frequently found in the municipal water supply. Filtering out any sediment from your water is important for protecting your plumbing fixtures and appliances. It can also improve the quality and taste of your drinking water. Silt, sand and rust particles can damage pipe fittings over time, leading to leaks. The particles will also clog up the aerators on your faucets so that less water can flow. Sediment can also damage your dishwasher and washing machine and cause them to fail more quickly. It will also make your water heater work less effectively.

Carbon Filtration

After the water goes through the sediment pre-filter, it moves into the large carbon tank. As the water flows through this tank, it passes through numerous highly efficient carbon media filters that remove more than 97% of chlorine and chloramines. Removing all of the chlorine greatly improves the taste and overall quality of the water, and the carbon filter will also eliminate any unpleasant odors.

Carbon filters are extremely efficient and will also remove heavy metals, pesticides, chemicals and organic contaminants. This means that an Enviro system will ensure that your water is pure, clean and safe to drink.

Salt-Free Water Conditioner or Softener

After the water has been fully filtered, it then moves into NaturSoft conditioner or salt-free water softener. Water conditioners are different from traditional salt water softeners, as they don’t actually remove minerals from the water. Instead, a water conditioner causes all of the calcium and magnesium particles to crystallize. This is so that they can’t stick inside of your pipes and plumbing fixtures to prevent the buildup of limescale and mineral deposits.

Traditional water softeners use an ion-exchange process that captures and removes dissolved calcium and magnesium from the water. They also use a salt brine to flush all of the minerals out of the softener tank. While traditional water softeners are effective, they also create lots of issues.

For one, salt water softeners waste lots of water since the softener tank needs to be regularly flushed out to remove all of the minerals. They are also harmful to the environment, as they release lots of salt into the wastewater. All of the salt then eventually makes its way into rivers, lakes and streams and can damage these fragile ecosystems.

Salt water softeners can also be harmful to your health since they add lots of sodium to your drinking water. Water softeners typically increase the sodium content by around 80 milligrams per liter or 320 milligrams per gallon. While this usually isn’t enough to make the water taste salty, it will still increase your daily sodium intake.

The Enviro NaturSoft conditioner has many important advantages over a traditional water softener, as it is more eco-friendly and doesn’t waste any water. The system has also been proven to be 99.6% effective at preventing limescale and mineral deposits. You also won’t have the added expense of buying bags of salt or the hassle of having to continually refill the brine tank with salt.

Another advantage that Enviro water systems have over traditional water softeners and most other water purification systems is that they work passively and don’t use any energy. Many other water purifiers work by using reverse osmosis filtration, and this type of filtration works extremely slowly unless there is a pump to force water through the filter.

Despite not having a pump and working passively, Enviro water systems work quickly so that you’ll always have plenty of water for all of your needs. Most systems have a flow rate of at least 8 gallons per minute. This is usually sufficient for homes with one to two bathrooms and will allow you to shower, run the dishwasher and do laundry all at the same time. Some larger systems can provide anywhere from 20 to 34 gallons of pure, clean water per minute, making them suitable for even the largest homes.

Optional UV Filtration

With an Enviro water system, you can also add an optional UV filter. UV water filtration is extremely effective and will remove 99.9% of bacteria and viruses to keep you and your family healthy. Virtually all bacteria, viruses and other microorganisms are highly susceptible to damage from ultraviolet light. UV light doesn’t actually kill bacteria and viruses, but it does damage their DNA so that they can no longer reproduce and are effectively rendered harmless.
